Esgic Plus contains Acetaminophen, Butalbital and Caffeine. Acetaminophen is a pain reliever and reduces fever. Butalbital is in a group of drugs called barbiturates. It relaxes muscle contraction involved in a tension headache. Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant. It relaxes muscle contraction in blood vessels to improve blood flow. Esgic Plus Uses

This medication should not be used if the patient has used MAOI during the past 14 days. Serious life threatening side effects may occur if Esgic Plus is taken before MAOI has cleared off from the body. No overdose of the medicine should be taken that may damage the liver. No pain heeler, sleeping pills, anti allergy tablets should be taken without consulting the doctor. One has to avoid alcohol while using this medication. Acetaminophen 's presence in the Esgic Plus necessitates that if any one takesmore than three alcoholic beverages per day, do not take this medication without doctor's advice.

How Take Esgic Plus

Medication should not be taken in larger quantity or for a prolonged period than what is prescribed. Directions in the prescription label should be followed. Doctor should be told if the medicine is not able to relieve the pain as expected. The medicine should be taken with food or milk. An overdose of acetaminophen may cause serious harm to liver. The maximum permissible limit of Acetaminophen is 1gram(1000 milligram) per dose or 4gram (4000 milligram) per day.
