Generic name of Diprolene AF is Betamethasone topical.
Betamethasone is a steroid. There are chemicals in the body which causes inflammation, redness and swelling. Betamethasone reduces their action. Precisely speaking, Betamethasone topical is used to treat the inflammation caused by a number of conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis. The dental paste of Betamethasone is used to treat mouth ulcers. There may be other use of Betamethasone not listed here.
Diprolene AF Uses
The medicine should be used exactly the way it is prescribed by the doctor or mentioned on the prescription label including the quantity and time period of use which should not be exceeded. The treated skin area should not be covered with a bandage or clothing unless the doctor told you to do so. If the diaper area of a baby is being treated, plastic pants or tight fitting should not be used. Covering the skin that is treated with medicine may increase the amount of drug that will be absorbed by the skin and lead to unwanted side effects. This medication should be used on the face, near your eyes, skin folds on the body area or thin skin. Children are very sensitive to Betamethasone. So, don't use it on children unless advised by the doctor. However, the medication will not treat a bacterial, fungul or viral infection. The doctor should be contacted if there is no improvement is noticed or if it gets worse after using the medication for the specified period.
How Take AF Diprolene
The medication should be used the way it was prescribed both in quantity or time period of use. Hands should be washed properly both before or after using unless the Betamethasone topical is used for a hand condition. A small amount of the ointment is applied and rubbed gently into the skin. This medication should not be applied near eyes, mouth or in between skin folds. It the dental paste version is used, that must be a very thin layer of application just to cover the mouth ulcer. The paste can stick better if the mouth ulcer can be possibly dried before application. If after using the medication for several days the condition does not improve or if it deteriorates, the doctor should be contacted. However, for better benefits, the medication should be used regularly.
Diprolene AF Warnings
Avoid getting the medicines close to the eyes, mouth, nose or on the lips. If it goes into any of these areas, washing the part carefully is the only remedy. Betamethasone topical should not be used on sunburned, wind burned, irritated or broken skin. It should also not to be used on open wound. Products that causes irritation of the skin should be avoided like harsh soaps, shampoos, skin cleaners, permanent chemicals, hair coloring, permanent chemicals, spices, astringents, or lime. Unless advised by the doctor, no skin care products should be used.
Diprolene AF Missed Dose
Any missed dose as soon as remembered should be taken.But, if it is almost time for the next dose, the missed dose may be skipped and the next schedule dose must be taken at the appropriate time. No extra dose to be taken to compensate the missed dose.
Diprolene AF Side Effects
Emergency medical help must be sought in case of the following allergic reactions are noticed or felt: breathing difficulty, hive, swelling of lips, tongue, face, or throat. Betamethasone topical use should be stopped and the Doctor should be called if the patient have any of these signs that he or she is absorbing Betamethasone topical through the skin or gums:
- Blurred vision
- Uneven heartbeat
- Frequent change of moods
- Sleeping problems
- Weight gain, feeling tired
There may be less serious side effects like dry mouth and dry eyes, blurred vision, skin redness, thinning of skin, blistering skin, stretch mark.. However, this is not a complete list of side effects and there may be others that may occur.
