Cialis pills are used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Further, recently Cialis has been approved for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and has also been used for other purposes. This is the latest of the three ED prescription pills so far approved by the F&D Administration for sale in the United States. The other two are: Viagra and Levitra. Cialis is said to have 36 hour effectiveness. And, like the other two is used as an “as needed medication” But Cialis is the only one of the three that is offered as a once daily application.

Cialis treats male impotence by increasing blood flow into the penis during sexual stimulation, which help achieve and maintain an erection. Advantage of Cialis over two others (Viagra & Levitra), is that it stays in the body much longer. Which, therefore, allows one pill to work for the entire week-end. Costs and success rate (about 70%) are the same for all the three.

Cialis Uses

Cialis is used to treat male sexual function problem (Impotence). Since the doctor and / or pharmacist are already aware of any possible drug interactions and monitoring or advising the person as required. It is necessary, therefore, that any medicine including Cialis should not be started, stopped or change of dosages made without their knowledge and consent. Before using Cialis, the doctor should be told about prescription or non-prescription drugs which the patient is taking. Normally, for a 3 days (72 hours) dose, 10-mg and for 24 hours (1 day) dose, 2.5-mg is suggested.

How Take Cialis

Cialis should be taken with or without food as directed by the attending doctor. Generally, there are two ways of using Cialis, use when it is needed or use one tablet everyday. The doctor has to suggest which one of the two is beneficial. The person has to scrupulously follow the doctor's advice. When taken as needed, the drug has to be taken at least 30minutes before the sexual act or as directed by the doctor. Since the effect of such medication last for 36 hours, the dose should be taken more than once daily as and when needed. For daily dose taker, the dose should not be more than once per day. The sexual activity may be performed any time between the doses. Grapefruit and its juice must not be taken while this medication is on unless the doctor advice otherwise.

Cialis Warnings

Persons who have heart related problems or taking medications called nitrates, should not take Cialis. If on using Cialis, cardiac symptoms like dizziness, light headedness, nausea or chest pain during sexual activity, is experienced; it is advisable to discontinue Cialis intake immediately and the doctor be informed about the same. If any person is having "long lasting erection problem" such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma et al, Cialis should be taken with caution. It the erection lasts for more than 4 hours, medical help will be required. Persons with bleeding disorder, stomach ulcers, eye troubles like retinitis pigmentosa, should use caution in sexual activity. Persons with liver or kidney problem should begin with lower doses.

Cialis Missed Dose

If the medication is taken in a regular schedule dose and a dose has been missed, the dose should be taken as soon as remembered..If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, the missed dose should be skipped and the scheduled dose to be taken. One should not take extra dose to make up the missed dose.

Cialis Side Effects

Most people who take Cialis do not experience any bad side effects as Cialis is tolerated by the body well. In case of minor's using Cialis, there are cases of reported side effects like headaches, rhinitis or flushing. However, incase of the above or other side effects like stomach pain, back pain, muscle pain, nasal stuffiness, dizziness or vision changes -the doctor must be consultedSexual activity puts additional strain on the heart. So, if the person is having heart problem or experiencing serious dizziness, fainting, chest pain, he should stop Cialis intake and restrain sexual activity and seek immediate medical attention.

Cialis Storage Advice

Store Cialis at room temperature (77 °F or 25 °C) and away from moisture and light. Brie storage at lower temperature is permitted.It should not be stored in the bathroom. Cialis should be kept away from children and pets.

Although not conclusively proved but overdose of Cialis is somewhat linked to intracerebral hemorrhage and generally advised never to take the medicine in overdose..
