Allegro is an antihistamine. If it is consumed, it reduces the chemical histamine in the body. Histamine is capable of producing symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes or runny nose. Allegro has many uses like treatment for the seasonal fevers in children and adults, treatment for skin itching and hives in children and adults. If the concerned person is allergic to any drugs or having kidney disease, prescription of all other treatment that must be broughtto the notice of theDoctor before taking Allegro. Allegro's absorption in the body becomes difficult if fruit juice and certain antacids are taken. For better effect, one should take Allegro at least one hour before or two hours after meal. No other drug without the knowledge of the doctor to be taken. In case of any allergic reaction or too much of medicine intake, medication to be stopped and emergency medical help may be requisitioned.

Allegra Uses

Allegra tablets and capsules may be used to treat seasonal allergy symptoms in children of 6years and above. Allegra oral suspension may be used for children of 2 years and above. It is not known whether Allegra is harmful for unborn baby. It is also not known whether the medicine passes into the breast milk or that can harm a nursing baby. So, pregnancy, breast feeding a baby or intended pregnancy, must be communicated to the Doctor before using Allegra.

How Take Allegra

Allegra should be taken exactly in the way it is prescribed. Certainly not in larger amount or for longer period. Prescription label should be followed. Allegra tablets to be taken with a full glass of water. Shake the oral suspension bottle before a dose is taken. Measuring cup or marked measuring spoon, should be used for a correct dose. For taking orally disintegrating tablets (Allegra ODT), the following care has to be taken- dry hands, peel back the foil, don't push the tablet through the foil, Do not swallow but allow it to dissolve in the mouth. Take such tablets in empty stomach. Doctor be informed if no improvement found.

Allegra Warnings

No antacids to be taken 15 minutes before or after taking the medication that contains Allegra. Allegra should not be taken with fruit juice. No other cold or allergy medicine to be taken unless it is prescribed by the doctor.

Allegra Missed Dose

The missed dose should be taken as soon as it is remembered. If it is almost the time of the next dose- then the next dose should be taken at the scheduled time and the missed dose should be omitted. No extra dose to be taken to compensate the missed dose.

Allegra Side Effects

Emergency medical help to be solicited if the following allergic reactions are encountered: breathing difficulty, swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. But, if there is fever, chills, body ache, cough or other flu symptoms, the Doctor should be called and use of Allegra should be stopped. However, there are few less serious side effects are -nausea, diarrhea, menstrual cramps, drowsiness, headache, back pain etc.

Allegra should be stored at room temperature and devoid of moisture or heat. It should be kept away from children's reach and so also from pets if there is any.
